Hi my FURRocious friends, It (was) the holidays and I'm trying to figure out where 2025 went...you?
It's a great time to look back at some wins and what could have gone better, as well as plan ahead for what's on your heart in 2026.
In 2025 I quit my job because of a boss who shouldn't be in charge of others , launched my podcast (Hey Prowlers!), released my 2nd Children's book, released an ebook, & began coaching aspiring Children's Book Authors! Oh, and Cook Children's is using The Vacation Kitten for their water safety training next summer! This is HUGE and I'm definitely basking in that success/joy/gratitude feeling.
Also, it's been a YEAR! Can I be candid? The recent weeks I've been crying a lot on the floor with my fur bae, Bungie, giving me lots of head boops. Why? I feel like a failure. I went into more debt while striking out on my own & had an influencer in place for massive momentum this Christmas, FULL on ghost me. Like, I flew to her state, went to her place, spent a day making content (5 videos/reels), then December 1...crickets.

I can't express how betrayed I felt after what seemed like a budding friendship and business collab ended abruptly...and she still used content we got for her. That said, I am still giving $1 from every book sold online to the cat rescue the other sweet girl works at. Spoiler alert, The Christmas Kitten only sold 18 books online, a few thousand less than I had planned. There's always next year!
Tears aside, I am hopeful and I hope you are too. Things get better. I PURRomise. I am not a failure. I am CLAWsome and you are too!

This month's guest is Natasha Paris, a local filmmaker and film teacher. The holidays are traditionally filled with friends and family, but on this episode we're going to dig a little deeper into the times when you experience loss. How are you supposed to support the people you love during a time like this?
Natasha Paris is a film bestie who goes way back to my married life. 2011 to be exact. I was chomping at the bit to produce a film, my first, and while seeking out cast and crew I came across this dynamic, fun, supportive, director/filmmaker. Unfortunately our short film was 5 minutes late as we turned it in to the 48 hour film festival and we were disqualified...ouch, but if you know me, you know that's only the beginning.
We've traveled to Paris (France, ironically also her last name) for filmapalooza and had a few short films in festivals, the biggest yet to come.
Please enjoy and share the show, and hold space for your and others' feelings this holiday season.
Whatever you've gone through this year, you're a bad ass and so supper capable. Acknowledge the wins, take some time and reflect on all the good this year has brought you, then release what you can as you prepare to walk into a new year! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and all the things!
Until next year, stay CLAWsome!
Love & Purrs,
Jessica
P.S. Sometimes getting to Christmas IS the miracle...hang in there.
Festive pajamas or ugly holiday sweater?
You have to wear your choice ALL day.
Reply with your answer!
And if you enjoy these emails, I’d love feedback. My cat is emotionally present but creatively unhelpful.

Thank MEW so very much for being a part of my clowder! Please share this with someone who needs to be encouraged & stay Clawsome!
